Remember, we are taking a trip to the Civil war reenactment at Heritae Hill on Friday December 8th. Remember to bring your signed permission slip and a lunch with you. It looks as though the weather will be fair, but I would recommend taking a sweatshirt and decent shoes because the reenactment area may be a bit muddy.

I have found an interesting article on the drive to preserve battle fields from the civil war as monuments to both the history of our country and of all the soldiers that have fallen in all wars. You can read the article here: http://www.fredericksburg.com/News/FLS/2006/122006/12042006/241366

Quote of the Week:
"War is cruelty. There is no use trying to reform it. The crueler it is, the sooner it will be over"
- Union General William T. Sherman said this shortly before beginning his brutal March to the Sea

Trivia Corner!!!!
Each week I will pose a question for the class to further explore if they so choose. Every friday I will accept answers for that weeks question on a piece of paper. Winners can select a piece of candy from the candy jar.
